Alex is a Junior and is taking this course to fulfill her Lasar and Major requirement as well as to learn more about the environment and how to help maintain Earth a beautiful home for humans and other kinds of life.Alex works full time as an Office Manager for a Counseling Agency in Hempstead, Nassau.

Arturo Montero was born in Peru and came to the States when he was 13. A math major, he has been attending QC for 10 years and will be graduating this December. Arturo lives in Massapeque with his wife and 2 kids. He’s a data analyst programmer with IPRO in Lake Success in Long Island. He is bilingual and likes to read in his spare time.

Davendra Rishie Singh is 30 years old. He is from Guyana, South America. Richie is married and living in Ozone Park. He has a daughter. He works as an accountant. He has an investment in Florida where also his mother lives. He is an accounting major and this is his last semester before graduation. He plans to get a CPA. He has a GPA of 3.3. He loves sports and plays in many. Cricket is his particular passion and he is world-class player (batting). He has an allergy but this does not stop him from drinking a lot of coffee. Richie is a family oriented person.

David Avestas. Dave used to go to Baruch college for a few months when he started his school career. He is 25 years old and was enrolled in the army until recently. Dave manages a video store in Astoria and currently lives in Jackson Heights.

Dionisia (Dee) Yohana. Dee is now majoring in Sociology but is really interested in business. She decided to major in sociology of business law. Therefore, law school will after a few years be her next destination.

Gil Shenhav is 21, Gil lives in Long Island where he has a very successful career in Real Estate. He is a student at Baruch College. However, he is taking this course at QC in order to satisfy his required science credits.

Joyce Martinez was born and raised in Queens, NY to Colombian parents. Currently she lives in East Meadow, Long Island with dog named Codey. Joyce is a full-time student majoring in Art Education, and will be graduating in spring 2005. While attending school, she works for friends who own a school uniform company. Joyce is in a relationship for 2 1/2 years but is not married.She like to read, play tennis, ride motorcycles!

Magdalene John recently (last month) moved to Queens .This is her last semester at Queens College. Magdalene has a one year old daughter who lives in the Virgin Islands with her mom until Magdalene finishes her schooling. Magdalene is a direct-care counselor at a day treatment program for mentally challenged individuals. She enjoys her job very much. After i graduate from QC she plans to get a Masters degree in Social Work. Magdalene enjoys reading mostly inspirational books and walking. In her spare time Magdalene also like to be with her family as much as possible.

Maria Rodriquez is majoring in Political Science. Maria was born in the Dominican Republic and has been 7 years in America. She plans to go to Law School and become a lawyer. Her present goal is to complete this Environmental Science course successfully and learn more about the environment.

Maria Villamar is an Ecuadorian and she has just come to the U.S. (approximately five years ago). Her major at Queens College is accounting. She works at Citibank as an investigator. She will graduate in December. Her interests include a broad range of music. She has a boyfriend. Maria is taking this class because it is required.

Marina Golembo is a teacher in Preschool (Presbyterian Hospital Child Care Center). She has a B.A. from Rusxsia where she graduated from University and worked as a Russian Teacher in Middle and High School. Maria has a family — her son is 11. She is taking this class as a requirement. Maria plans to start a Master’s program in the Spring term.

Michelle Batista is the director of recreation at a nursing home. She graduated from Queensborough C. C. and is very excited to be taking her first class at QC. She is working on her B.A. and wants to be a teacher. She doesn’t like science but loves music and reading. Michelle has a little girl. She workd full time and is taking 5 classes. (Oh — I almost forgot — she LOVES shopping and watching OLD MOVIES.)

Pamela McKenzie is pursuing an Accounting major. Her plans are to graduate and continue a career in her major field. Pamela was born in Guyana. She has one child. Pamela has been in the United States for 14 years. She intends to complete this science course successfully in order to move on with her other education plans.

Paula Spatafora   Paula has two children: Blake 19, Madison 12. Her husband, Randy, is a pastry chef. Paula is a nursery teacher Her passions are her family and the arts (theater and dance), She needs this class to fulfill her Lasar req. Then she is back in grad school. She loves eating out at good restaurants. Paula is a girl scout leader and for two years was the PTA president of her daughter’s school.

Tador (George) Chou is a native of Taiwan. This is his last semester at Queens College. He is an economics major. In addition, George is married and has two kids. He works for Local 3 (union). He is taking this class as an elective and hopes to get a good grade.
